(what I got out of my devotion this morning):
Oftentimes, we fail to remember the real reason why God forgives us of our sins. God loves us because we are His children, but that is NOT why He forgives us. He forgives us because Jesus Christ, His Son, died for our sins. If we don’t keep this in mind, then the Cross becomes unnecessary, and all of Jesus’ suffering is in vain.
It becomes much more meaningful when you take a few minutes of your day to really think about the Cross (paraphrased from Cassie Wilson @ Small Groups :P). If we simply ask for forgiveness because we know that God will forgive us no matter what, then that contradicts the revealed truth of God in Jesus Christ.
The greatest note of triumph ever sounded in the ears of a startled universe was that sounded on the Cross of Christ— “It is finished!” (John 19:30). That is the final word in the redemption of humankind.
about to make some major decisions in my life….
I need all the prayers I can get, so PLEASE pray for me.
i will write a more detailed post about it soon.
